Dashboard ticking sounds
Hey Guys!
Need your help.
I started to hear ticking sounds somewhere inside my dashboard.
I went to the dealer, they said because it is cold in Canada now (not that much to be honest, -5 Celsius, 23 F) plastic inside the cabin can compress and do that type of sounds.
I even recorded the video. You can watch it here
. Has anybody faced the same issue before?
What should I do in your opinion? Should I complain to Lexus Canada and ask for their involvement?
P.S. When the weather outside is warm, I do not hear anything, but I do not think it is appropriate for Lexus to do these sounds.

Sorry - I wasn't able to hear it on the video but mine makes noises as well...seems to be on the passenger side and usually when cold.

I haven’t had any ticking sounds to that extent, in fact I have found the interior so far to be the tightest of any of my cars owned so far. I don’t think those sounds should happen despite the winter weather, that is pretty significant.

I have the same problem!
Thank you for your answer. You mean you could not open the video or just the sound there was unclear? If the link did not work properly, here is the new one. Just reloaded it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cWN9HWV6xSw
Thank you
Thank you

Thank you for your input. I think I will try to look at this problem again because it is really annoying.

Thank you for your input. Do you have that sound on the passenger side when it is cold outside and do not get any noise when it gets slightly warmer? Have you tried to ask the dealer to fix it and if so, what did they say? Because mine in downtown Toronto said "It is normal during winter times, just drive with it".

I resolved the license plate issue by using 3/4" wide foam weather stripping applied to the inside of the plate. I'm sure there are more expensive ways to dampen the vibrations but this worked for me.

I have the same problem when it's cold here in NYC when temp drops below 20 degrees F. The dash have the same clicking noise from plastic and the rear trunk are too. Once it weather warms up, noise goes away. It's all due to the cold hard plastic

I was driving this morning with a friend - he also heard it and applied pressure to the passenger side of the dash. It seemed to quiet down when he pushed on the dash speaker. I'm going to see if I can put a temporary shim in there to see if it helps and will update.

The pursuit of F
I had some ticking/creaking from the center NAV screen area and right dash speaker cover. Removed the latter and added felt tap (hockey tape) along the contact points and was good. Have someone drive while pressing on parts to pinpoint the source.

Update after I go for service today(see picture below). I have to bring the vehicle back when the part arrived.
