Pair the phone and open the Scout GPS Link app. Be aware that there is also a Scout GPS (not Link)
that works while hiking or biking but is not the one you need here. Turn the center console **** around
to "Connected Navi" and press down. It will instruct you how to connect. You will now have two different
ways to use Scout. When you are not in the car you can open the app and look up destinations that will
be used once driving. When you are in the car and the phone is hooked up you will see that the app is
just solid black w/Scout Logo. Now all the functions are on the dash display. If you have the 2018 you
will need to also connect with a USB cable to enable moving maps. With either 2017 or 2018 you are
urged to keep it connected because Nav Apps use a lot of phone battery!

Latest wrinkle in the iPhone/Scout universe is that the latest update, iOS 11 is not
cooperating with the Scout app. We can not undo the update so we are going to
have to wait for either iOS 12 and/or Scout's next update...

I apologize if this has been covered in another thread, but I just recently got my RC300 yesterday.
Is it possible to load a general map on the screen using Scout? Or do I have to be on a mapped route to see the map around me?
I had a GPS in my IS250 F Sport, while I didn't use the navigation much, I did utilize having the map on the screen to view streets up ahead. I

If you are using Scout link and App Suite 2.0, you should get a actual map when tethered through your USB. If you are using a Iphone you actually have to keep Scout link up on the phone screen for this to work.

Scout GPS link will work if the Scout GPS link app is not active on the screen, but you will only get the Turnstream mode. To get the Mapstream mode, you need to have the USB cable plugged and the Scout GPS link active which will show up as a black screen with icon of phone and car.

Yes, only one port can be used for data transmission at a time. Both will still charge devices.
