Default Thinking of trying out a Lexus NX200t....

I have a 2011 Lexus RX350 which I have been very happy with and am wanting to know for my daughter if the a used Lexus NX200t would be suitable for her. She wants AWD and a reliable vehicle. From the reviews in this forum I gather the NX200t is not as reliable as the RX350? If this is not the most reliable suv what else would you suggest?

only have a '17 nx w/10k miles no issues

have heard fsport has a much better suspension which might help with safety or lead to overdriving ?

new 2018 nx has lots of little upgrades including safety

We bought a 2015 NX "demo" that had 4550 miles on it. We've only had it to the dealer twice, the first time was for the 10K checks and to adjust the headlights, (they were a little too high). The second time was for a recall, new software in the parking brake system. We now have 26K miles and it has had no other issues. We get 24 to 25.5 mpg with mixed city/highway driving. I think it would be a great car for your daughter.

Hi all thanks for the two replies about how good the NX200t is. Anymore comments would be appreciated about how good this suv is re reliability?

"reliability?"

2 years, only back for periodic oil changes, nothing to fix--same for my past 3 other models.

16 NX FSport. 19 months no issues. Like others, enjoy and appreciate it more every time I drive it.
Sweet spot for me regarding size.

Many issues are left to fix for the NX. Stay with the RX in my opinion.

What issues do you speak of Lazerboy? We had two 2015 Luxury model NX 200t's for about a year and a half with no issues.

I have both 16 NX and 17RX.
I review both CL posts daily.
NX forum has very few issues while RX forum is unfortunately full of issues.
Both models are great to me, but NX is much more fun to drive.
RX you need to get used to 8 speed behavior.

I have many navigation control issues including Lagging (3 secs delais) , slowliness of response time for GPS map, crash of entire computer and random reboots, unable to enter destination from voice commands (have to repeat 4-5 times ) with different tonality.
I consider this a total flop as its a total distraction during driving operation.

If you want to check reliability, you can scour any forum and go through the first 2 pages....you'll get an idea since forums are where mostly people will complain about their car.

For fun, check out the land rover forum

There was a tsb or recall for a software upgrade on this.
Even though I didn't have issue with my nav on my '16, the dealer did it anyways.

Lexus voice command is pretty weak, that I agree, but calling it as TOTAL FLOP???

Owned an NX200t for two years with superb reliability and exceedingly few issues. I recently traded (for reasons of vehicle attributes) for a new RX350 which is great. If you check CR, both cars have Much Better than Average or Better than Average reliability ratings derived from large statistical sample sizes. Characteristic of internet forums, one gets repeated postings from a few who are having some problems (or are subject to the Princess and the pea syndrome) and the obvious trolls who contribute to a distorted picture. One can't guarantee perfection, but the odds are in your favor with the NX.

Only issue with NX200t is the rattling from subwoofer and some other areas. In terms of drive the car is fine. I haven't had issues with mine except rattles that I fixed myself. Like with any car, there are the few horror stories, don't let those sway you away. Do your due diligence.

Many of the anomalies surfaced here have to do with "noise" or "functionality". There is almost no feedback that warrants the car undriveabke thus to me, the NX is as reliable as an RX (which I had previously)
