Thule roof bike rack
Installed Thule Sprint XT roof bike rack on my nx. I got the kind that slides into the rails of the oem crossbar which suspiciously looks like it was made by Thule as well.

The NX has a great set up for carrying bikes and the height isn't too bad to lift a bike. Getting the mountain bikes on top can be a bit of an effort.
The cross bars are by Thule but toyota/Lexus branded. Unfortunately Lexus only gives 1 year warranty where as Thule has an industry best limited lifetime warranty on its products.
The cross bars have a common flaw. The plastic Lexus branded caps that lower to insert the bike racks are faulty. They are held in position when down by two thin plastic clips attached to a metal wire. Those clips break easily.
One day you will be unlocking one and as you lower it to the horizontal position it will give way and bounce off the side of your carefully and obsessively maintained NX.
The frustrating thing is that the roof racks need to be replaced when this happens. You can't order a plastic cap as they are uniquely key coded.
My toyota Lexus dealer who I have been going to for 20 years was kind enough to remove a working cap from another pair of racks that were returned with the same problem. I now have to use a second set of keys for that single cap but at least they're functional.
Next time I'll purchase straight from Thule.
