Truck takes out hanging lines, cables land on my car :(
As much as I take care of my car... this one hurt a bit. A cement truck ran through my neighborhood and took the lines that were hanging with it. As a result, the cables snapped and the snapping cable hit my car. On the front of my roof there is a ding and paint chip. Other damage included scuffing and other scratches. Sigh... if you live in an area with lines that drape across the road, call your ISP to have them fix it before something like this happens to you.

That's too bad, but glad you had video footage to decide on any action or as a worst case, it can give you some closure on how the cable landed on your NX.

Didn't catch the truck company. I don't think its worth the time to call police and have them handle it. Just going to have someone fix the dent and apply touch up paint.

the other thing - who owns those lines? It doesn't seem like the truck was overly tall or had some stick or something sticking out on top.
If you know who owns the lines (power company)? I think you have a good argument that they didn't maintain it and that they're at fault for damages. Your video is pretty good proof (double check that the truck didn't have something extended first, but it didn't seem like it).

So I contacted Geico, just to see what they would be able to do and asked for what I should do. They just told me it counts as comprehensive claim and $500 deductible. I also noticed this truck took out other lines down the block as well. I guess now, I'll just paintless dent repair and touch up paint the damage myself. Just glad its not too obvious. Does anyone know where I can purchase original Lexus touch up paint online? Thanks.
