Default tie down locations when rear seats down

I need opinions when rear seat is folded down, where to tie down large object so when going over bumps the object wont hit roof of car? are there points on back of front seats or on rear doors? dont want to screw up roofliner...object is a metal dog cage.

There are D-latches in the cargo area to hook up the cargo net. As far as securing the front of it, I wonder if you can access the Lower Anchors and Tethers for CHildren (LATCH) system with the seats down? They are in the seat hinge tho, but you may be able to get a hook around it.

How fast are you going over speed bumps that you need to tie stuff down to make sure it doesn't hit the roof of your car?

its an awd vehicle where it gets driven in snow/backroads/potholes...and I just want cargo secured so if I slam on brakes I dont get objects flying into my windshield....

should add the clearance is only 1/2 inch.

there are the car seat latches on the back of the seats under the headrest. you could utilize those as well when the seat is folded down

true, they can kinda work, but are positioned more towards the middle than front. and due to the width of crate could only use 1 of them.

after driving it around a bit, i notice it slides back towards the hatch a bit...gotta find a solution to this. the latches on back of seats are strong enough imo....they start pulling out/away from the seat back with some tension.

If you use the car seat latches on the back of the seats, you might need to do something to secure the seat back so it doesn't come up. Can you use the seal belt anchors on the post behind the rear doors (what the shoulder harness slides through)?
