NX 2016 Seat Belt Alarm

I've owned a 2006 IS and was able to disable the seatbelt alarm on it. I've yet to find a sequence for the 2016 NX. Had anyone been able to disable theirs? If someone could post a link on how to disable the seatbelt alarm, I'd appreciate it. Thx.

is it this:

30. Speed Linked Driver Seat Belt Reminder When the vehicle reaches 12 mph: □ The driver seat belt buzzer will sound (Standard) = On □ The driver seat belt buzzer will not sound = Off

there's also a similar setting for passenger side

this is a dealer only configuration change

if you have a BT OBD2 reader, you can pay $10 for a one week pass for the Carista app, which lets you change all the standard and dealer only settings.

the NT customizations are listed here:

http://www.lexus.com/documents/broch...play-audio.pdf

see settings 30 and 31

thx for the response but there should be a DIY sequence to disable it. I've tried the disable sequence for the RX 2016, but it didn't work on the 2016 NX. I'm really surprised there isn't a list out on the forums yet.

maybe because there is no sequence...dealer should be able to do it the next time you bring it in for maintenance

no, they wont do it. I was just in there this morning for something else.

really? It's a specific dealer setting. I thought (!) most dealers do that for free once. They show you the list, you select the ones you want changed, then they do their magic. Wonder if they refused that specific change for safety reasons.

If the setting is the speed linked seat belt reminder, then Carista can change that. But you have to pay $10 just for a week's usage, and also have a OBD2 reader.

no, they absolutely won't do it for liability reasons. I've heard about Carista, but I'm hoping someone will respond with a DIY sequence.

if you happen to be in SF or the SF Peninsula, I can do it for you. I purchased Carista when it wasn't subscription based.

They did it for me. Time to find another dealer.

I used the carista tool with an OBD reader. Worked great! Glad to have the annoying ding off for short trips around the neighborhood. (I.e. Going to the house after picking up mail at the community mail box) I always wear my seatbelt otherwise.
