Default AEM Intake

I just found that AEM just released an intake for the NX 200T, part #21-787C. According to the dyno sheet provided by AEM it has a max increase of 14 HP and 14 ft lbs of torque, but all on the high-end of the RPM's. Looks pretty good with the heat shield and the AEM intakes I've had before were always quality pieces. Haven't bought it yet but it's tempting!

AEM intake is definitely a good buy for anyone who's looking for some performance upgrade.

I want one for my RX...

Is an after market air intake legal in CA?

-- NVM.
  • Not legal for sale or use in California

I really want to do this if it ever comes out for the RX

Default Got my AEM intake installed

Took me about 2 hours. I'm not that handy with cars but it came with step by step picture instructions so if I can do it anyone else can. Hardest part was getting the 3 wire clips off the stock intake because of the awkward angle. I could only get one of these clips back into the AEM heat shield because there was no way the other would fit the wire loom was too tight. Was also a little challenging fitting the intake into the stock turbo and trying to manuever a screwdriver between the pipes to tighten the hose clamp. If I had another person helping me it would have taken half the time.

As far as performance I don't notice a difference other than the sound. My wife said it sounds like the car sneezes when I let off the throttle lol.

That put a smile in my face and I had an audible lol .. Bummed that they aren't street legal in CA. Are you worried about it in NJ?

Were you able to snap the 2 wire clips into the AEM heat shield? I could only get one, not the one nearest the battery. Not a big deal it's not going anywhere, was just wondering.
