🍎 Grey Goose Gets a Pop of Color 👀
I wanted to add a pop of color to the Grey Goose (my Nebula Grey NX) so I added some red.
In other forums, this is a controversial and polarizing topic. Just let me say that I did it just for the color. I did not do it to pretend that I have a BBK or brakes other than Lexus NX OEM. These are not the cheap plastic "stick-on" Chinese covers with "Brembo" illegally printed on them.
These are the metal MGPs, made in the U.S. They are powder coated and made from 6061-T6 aluminum, which help to dissipate heat. In fact, MGP used an infrared gun to prove that heat dissipates faster because of the increase of the surface cooling area. Additionally, other owners also say that the amount of brake dust on the wheels had been reduced.
At any rate, the choice to do this was strictly my own. If you don't like them, that's your opinion. If you do like them, let's talk about them some more.
I have video and pics of the installation that I'll produce in my next DIY thread. Hopefully, I can get it published some time later this week.

Just an FYI, these particular MGP covers (supposedly, "custom fit" for the NX) are not as plug-n-play or quick install as they would lead you to believe.
The fronts when on in no time, but the rear clips had to be cut to fit around the shape of the calipers and the cover extension brackets had to be reformed to avoid contact with the rubber boots. I'll show all this in the upcoming DIY thread.
It's not for the non-mechanically-inclined person, unfortunately.

I didn't expect to like it, but I think they look great! Now what color works for my red NX. Gray? Oh - wait, they already are
I wonder how the red would look on a red car? While I don't need the color, if it is a reasonable match for the Matador Red Mica, it could still look sharp.

Thanks! I am very satisfied with the look.
Where I bought mine, they only have red, black, and matte black for the NX.
However, you can pay a bit more for a custom set which could have other colors and/or other text on them.
To see what a red car looks like (or any other color), peruse these search results.
Porsche, Mercedes AMG (among other automobile manufactures) use both red and yellow calipers. Red—by far—seems to be the most popular, followed by yellow, then a distant black, and I've seen very few blues.
