Default 🚙 What's in Your Trunk? 👀

Let's see pics of what you normally carry in your trunk (under the cargo area floor—or above it, if you wish) that is not part of the standard items that is included with the NX. Depending on your locale, maybe I should mention "trunk" == "boot".

If you don't have pics, simply tell us what your carry over and above the standard items.

I'll start...

I also carry one of those blue plastic tarps. It's usually folded and placed across the tire area. I removed it in order to photograph the whole trunk area.

BTW, I have nothing that rattles or makes any noises from being stowed back there.

Nothing out of the ordinary except a large soft cover that protects my back seats when the wheatens decide to come for a ride.

I have the following in my trunk
1. a large towel
2. an umbrella
3. a headlight can be charged with USB.
4. a spare jacket (can be quite windy at times in New Zealand!0)
5. a 5 litre (roughly 5 quarts?) petrol canister
6. a pair of cotten gloves
7. a drinking mug
8. a hat.

I have already used the headlight, the gloves, the umbrella, the towel and the hat more than once since I purchased the vehicle in August.

Good thread!

I have status quo in my trunk with the exception of an additional sound proofing layer. I also store the tonneau cover in there and I have the cargo net always mounted which is very convenient for grocery bags.

Ah, yes...my original photo that started this thread didn't show the cargo net in order to show the trunk contents. I always have my net up and in use. I permanently store a couple of microfibre cloths in there, as well as a full-size umbrella, and my car duster—while leaving plenty of room for shopping bags and such.

On top we have a plastic bin for loose items(I don't like the cargo net and I also removed the privacy cover) It has my tire inflater in it. Also, we always carry 2 insulated bags for frozen food to hold when coming home from the supermarket or a pizza!

Underneath on the left is a small tool kit, hammer, and tire plug kit. In the center is various bungie cords and tie down rope. Below is tie down for tire and a fire extinguisher. (I won't leave home without one after a vehicle fire awhile ago)

You know those little rubber foam donut thingys that are sitting at the end of the cord thats attached from the tonneau cover to the hatch body? In normal operation, those things kind of weight the cord down so that when the hatch closes, the cord continues descending past the tonneau cover once the cover has been lowered in place.

Well, my experience is that when the cargo net is up, it sits in the perfect position to block the descent of those rubber foam donuts, causing the cord not to descend properly as the hatch is closing, ... in fact, in my case, the cord kinks and many times I see it getting pinched between the hatch body rubber seal and the car body seal.

Anyone else experiencing this?
