You are right and wrong. The 1600km is check up, but my dealer does a free oil drain and fill, no filter change. According to Lexus.ca, the 8000km oil service is complimentary.

Any tips on how you were able to negotiate this perk into the price? Going into sign the papers and take delivery of the vehicle tomorrow night. Wouldn't mind some tips on how to negotiate this in to the price. If you don't mind me asking also which dealership did you purchase from, assuming your in the Calgary area.

The Lexus manual page 45 and 46 state that the first maintenance at 5000 miles and second maintenance at 10000 miles is complimentary. Miles converted to KM's are pretty close to our 8000KM and 16000KM maintenance schedules here in Canada. Is this deal only valid for the US? Can anyone confirm?

P.S. They sold 17 NX's that day.

Ok, we need to get some things straight here.
What is in your manual is the SUGGESTED. If you wish to maintain your warranty, you will AT MINIMUM meet these requirements. If you, like myself, wish to go to your dealer more often, that is fine if you wish to spend the money. When I go in at 1500, I will tell them I am paying for the oil change. Then, I will get the complimentary at 5k and 10k.
If you wish to go 3k mi intervals on oil changes, that's fine. You can do whatever you wish, as long as you're meeting the intent of your manual.
The same is true for other fluids in the car. I will plan to swap my differential fluid after break in as well. Heck, in the Camaro, I have swapped rear diff, tranny, oil (3x), and brake fluid all before 9k miles.

Yes, the published schedule is also riddled with fine prints regarding driving in extreme conditions regarding temperature, load, towing, etc. and off course a time component so 10k miles in one year should still result in an oil change at the 6 months mark regardless of the mileage.
Remember that a 10K miles oil service interval in the US is actually 16000 km, where as traditionally, Lexus Canada has maintained a 5K miles for all their cars. The NX being the sole exception, they are now aligned with the US schedule. The Canadian website still refers to the general schedule that apply to all vehicles other than the NX.
