Price of service plans
#2
I did select the tire/wheel damage insurance which added just a few more dollars per month over the length of my lease.

I looked at the service catalog online. It sounds like some additional things are added to the plan that are not part of the official catalog. Here is the first 50k miles with approximate prices based on my personal knowledge. I am assuming the plan is sold by Lexus and can be used at any dealer. I have seen on different boards that sometimes people go to Toyota dealers for service since the prices can be better.
5k - free
10k - free
15k - inspect many things, rotate tires. replace key battery - $30
20k - oil change, cabin air filter, rotate tires - $100
25k - rotate tires - $30
30k - oil change, cabin air filter, rotate tires, replace brake fluid, replace engine air filter, - $400
35k - rotate tires - $30
40k - oil change, cabin air filter, rotate tires, replace spark plugs - $200
45k - inspect many things, rotate tires. replace key battery - $50
50k - oil change, cabin air filter, rotate tires - $100

I've seen several car companies offer to do plans like this, and really, I find them all to be crooks.
5, 10k you need nothing and Lexus comps those.
Based on what wild says above:
15k - Inspection can be done yourself, rotate tires can be done yourself, why in the world does you key battery need to be replaced already?
20k - Oil change is $80, cabin air filters are $30 at Autozone and install it yourself. Rotate tires yourself. $110
25k - Rotate tires yourself.
30k - Of note, cabin air filters are once a year or 12k miles, whichever happens first. Oil change is $80, cabin air filters are $30 at Autozone and install it yourself. Rotate tires yourself. Air filters are $10-20 at Autozone, replace it yourself. Brake fluid is the only one here worth debating at probably $250. Total $360
I'll stop, but you're getting my general jist here. The price is very comparable WITHOUT the Lexus sold plan.
Also, why in the world are you replacing the spark plugs at 40k miles? Modern day plugs are good for 100-120k miles.
Also, people that go to Toyota dealers for work are not getting better prices. Toyota requires that Toyota dealership UPCHARGE a Lexus car if it comes to the Toyota dealer instead of Lexus. I have friends that work at Toyota dealers who can confirm this.
