Is it photoshop or was it your intention to have the front and rear wheels be different sizes?

Those would look sweet on my (Non-F) Silver Lining NX. But at 20" would I have to worry about tires scraping the wheel well or bottoming to the rim on small potholes? (pretty novice about this - be gentle!)

They won't scrape the wheel well, but they will make the car ride/drive differently. I have had 3 vehicles with 20" low profile tires...they are noisy and rough...and if you can get over 15k miles on these tires you are lucky. I enjoy the quiet solitude of my NX too much to compromise it. Plus, I love the wheels on my F Sport, so it's really a non-issue for me.

Those Niche Misanos look good.

From my experience with 20"s on my NX, ride quality is 99% OEM as compared to the 225/60/18 Michelins that came with the car. I did a tonne of research and found two key factors to minimize changes in ride quality.

1. Unsprung weight (overall tire+wheel weight) needs to be the same or less than OEM
2. Tire construction with a focus on ride quality

For 1: The combination of tire + wheel I got is 60 lbs, nearly identical within 1lb of the OEM 18 combination.
For 2: The Yokohama Parada Spec-X are at the top in ratings on ride comfort and noise quality in the A/S category in this size range. I could not agree more and match the Michelins despite being wider and lower profile. My size is 255/45/20 105 XL.

In short, anyone wanting to get 20 wheels and tires on the NX, you can do so and still have the ride quality to match. And no rubbing issues whatsoever though I wouldn't lower than a 35 offset on an 8.5" rim.

No, you want all the tires at the same pressure. The only exception to this would be if you're running different diameter front and rear wheels. Then its a different story. But if all the wheels are the same size, I would put all of them at 34-35 psi when cold and ambient air is 70 degrees and see how it drives. Adjust accordingly.

The reason it looks "flatter" in the front is the weight of the engine as I said, and the lower the profile of the tire, the more that tends to show. You're still fine though.
Extremely well explained swacer. I can't imagine what the ride quality was like at 46 psi as I find even a couple of psi on the high side and I feel every crack and crevice on the road.

We will be looking for an extra set of OEM wheels in the fall to install a set of winter tires. I am wondering if the wheels from any other Lexus models would fit the NX? (I'm cheap and hoping I can find a set of used wheels somewhere rather than buying new.)

My NX is leased, so I'm unlikely to spend a pile of cash on it that I'll never get back. But the opinion is appreciated!

Avoid CT, LS, GX, and LX as they don't have the 5x114.3 bolt pattern of the NX and other recent Lexus vehicles.

For winter, I really suggest a set of black 17" steelies from Costco. They will go well with Nebula gray. I wish Costco had them when I bought my winters, but now they do.

I have a set OEM reps from the RX that I plan to paint in liquid graphite over the summer and reuse on the NX. I also have a set of a fancy 5 spoke wheel that I bought used for my 2IS that I will also paint liquid graphite and reuse on the 3IS

Hey gang,

found these IS wheels on Kijiji, but I am at work and don't know the NX wheel tire size so can't compare the overall diameter. I am pretty sure that being 17inch wheels, there aren't any tires out there to make this work. Thoughts???

4 x oem 2008 lexus is250 wheels 7.5/10cond
17x8" 60.1mm centre bore
5x114.3 bolt pattern
All 4 centre caps included

4 x oem lexus tpms sensors

4 x 205/50/17 brand new federal himalaya ws2 winter tires

Professionally mounted & balanced

If I put black steelies on my wife's NX, I'd be sleeping on the couch for a very long time.

- Wheels fit the specs.
- TPMS are not compatible
- Tires are much too small in diameter

If you have specific questions, feel free to PM me.
