Recently purchased a NX thanks to this forum. Aim for 10% off MSRP plus the Lexus Cash Rebate (I think it's $2,500 right now for the 2018 NX). It's a great time to buy 2018 model since the 2019 model will be hitting the lot soon. Good luck!

I went back to the dealer today. They don't have the car I wanted, but they located one at a dealer a state or so over. MSRP = $45,982. Their offer was simply a $1,819 discount, $2500 lexus rebate, and then a cost of $199 for admin fees. This brings the total to $41,862.00. Not nearly the discount I am seeing others get on this forum.

Right, I could see that it could be $500 worse, but not $2-4k worse. I have given the vibe that I can walk, I am an OCD/indecisive engineer with no emotion. Going tomorrow to evaluate other options like the X1/2 or Macan.

Good luck with the X1 or the Macan. Let us know how you do.

You might be setting some unrealistic expectations for yourself. Saint Louis is a very small market. I looked at the websites of the two Lexus dealers, and there's something like 11 NX300's in stock total between the two of them. In my city, we have 4 dealerships, with the biggest one having 80-90 NX300's in stock, and smallest one with 30 or so. Secondly, the dealers are running out of 2018 stock. The 2019's are in transit now. The $2500 rebate is only on the 2018. Finally, If you're targeting an additional $4k savings ($5800 dealer discount), you're in unicorn territory for this time of year, for your market. The $1800 dealer discount is not great (really $2300 assuming $500 transport absorbed, plus the manager who does the trade will want a little extra for the legwork), but it's not a total ripoff either. My guess is that you have $500-$1000 to play with in the dealer's number, not $2-4k.
Good luck with the X1 or the Macan. Let us know how you do.

Very valid points. I think I like the Lexus Best, all things considered. The X1 doesn’t have the cockpit feel where the center console is continuous and above leg height. The Porsche or BMW will likely not be as cheap to maintain higher mileage wise. I’ll be commuting 60 miles/day, so I know I’ll be putting on a bit of miles.

My neighbor just drove home from the Lexus dealer in Portland, Oregon with a brand new (22 miles on the odometer) 2018 Atomic Silver F-Sport.
I didn't ask him how much he paid, but he told me the dealer offered him "just over $5,000 in incentives so they could make room for the 2019s."
He paid cash, and said there was only one more 2018 F-Sport left on the lot...a black one.

I am working on a lease deal on a 2018. The dealer found me a vehicle at another dealership about 100 miles away, so naturally it would be transported to my local dealer. I have 2 questions: 1) Is it normal for this transfer expense to be paid by the buyer? 2) Is there an average rate per mile I should expect to be paying for this?
