Thoughts on adding the body side moldings to protect the doors?

I was playing with MS Paint on different configurations for the molding. I used a white line on an obsidian car to best see the lines. I think the window line configuration looks best. The issue with the current OEM configuration is that it does not align with either the window line or lines in the door. It may match the bottom of the door but it can appear to be off to the eye. The window line also aligns with the door handles.

I saw it in real life... It does not look good at all.

I was considering a chrome strip along the crease line of the doors....anybody have a thought on that ? I sure don't want to take away from the already fantastic look of the NX.

I pulled the trigger and ordered the parts online, the dealer wanted almost 600.00 (5hr labor) for installing the side moldings and mudguards, so I did it myself. instructions are easy to follow though.
mudguards and crossbars are next....

But I am still curious... I don't think these will stop people from denting your door. What happens if there is a door that is higher than the side strips?

I was wondering the same too, but I parked my wife's Rav4 next to it, opened the door to check, and it stopped right on the rubber strip.
