^ my moonroof started to make a rattle around 60K miles. Nothing wrong, it worked fine just made noise. Lexus Good Willed the fix for me out of warranty ($1000* for a new cable + labor) . One would probably have a tougher fight with Cadillac about that.

Not really a matter of disagreeing. I am right there with you in wanting it under $43k.

But I do not see how they can shrink the RX, switch-out the V-6 for a Turbo-4, keep all of the same hi-quality leather and amenities, put in that killer ML stereo and sell it for $10 grand less than an RX...

Heard from my dealer that NX 300h will have 197 hp , accelerate from 0-100 km/h ( 0-62 ) in 9,3 seconds and have a consumption somewhere around 5,2 l/100 km with 2WD and 5,4 with AWD.

I guess that would be about 192 US hp, acceleration 0-60 = 9,1 sec and about 43 mpg.

I really like the consumption, but the acceleration is actually really, really bad. Thats almost as slow as the CT 200, and will probably get even worse at higher speeds. BMW X3 2.0d is more than a second faster with less hp. I will wait for the 2.0T for sure.

that info was know for a month, posted few pages back (Lexus Espana).

It should be a lot faster than CT200h at higher speeds, because of stronger engine... it is pretty similar to most 2.0 diesels actually - Q5 2.0 tdi 170hp stronic in 9.9s

2.0t is going to be a lot faster though...

Interesting bits from chief engineer interview:

Other external lighting highlights include door handle-housed puddle lights, and upward facing tracer lights, which run along the top of the door handles, illuminating the base of the side windows.
Kato explained: “The pressing depths for the fenders was a challenge, but ultimately the challenge for us was to bring this design to life.”
Kato cited its development as one of the biggest engineering challenges for NX and said: “Developing the petrol engine was most challenging for us because it adopts a new control logic programme that is controlled by computer and features turbo-specific direct injection.”

The control logic programme is mated to to an all-new six-speed automatic gearbox, and instructs the engine to deliver the required amount of torque at any particular time to deliver smooth acceleration and high fuel efficiency.

Moving to the inside of the car, Kato described an innovation that stands out for its ingenuity and “Why didn’t I think of that?” simplicity: “We developed a new material for the lining of the cup holders that is non-slip, so that the driver can open a plastic bottle with one hand.” Having tested it at the preview event, we can confirm that it works perfectly.

More details on the Lexus NX
http://www.topgear.com/uk/car-news/l...ils-2014-05-23
Petrol hybrid and a new four-pot turbo engine for Lexus’ brand new premium SUV

We've got more news on the Lexus NX, the firm's new premium SUV set to do battle with the likes of the BMW X3 and Audi Q5.

Firstly, we know it'll look nothing like the controversial LF-NX concept, but instead like the one in the pictures above. In fact, exactly like the one in the pictures above because that's the production Lexus NX.

There's the huge Lexus face, flared arches, 17/18in wheels, L-shape combination rear lights and echoes of the spindle grille at the back, too. Distinctive, isn't it? It's certainly a more refreshing SUV to look at - you won't mistake this for any of the anodyne Germans.

Dimensions are those of the X3 and Q5 - it measures 4630mm long, 1845mm wide and 1645 high.

But the more important news is the announcement of a new turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine that will debut in the new NX. It features direct injection and variable valve timing with the ability to run on the efficient Akinson cycle at light load. At full bore, the water cooling of the integrated exhaust manifold also reduces consumption.

Power sits at 235bhp between 4,800rpm and 5,600rpm, while its peak torque figure of 258lb ft comes in low at 1,650rpm, tailing off at 4,000rpm.

There's no performance figures to hand as yet, but in the UK this engine will be paired with a six-speed automatic gearbox and a mechanical four-wheel-drive system, badged up as a NX 200t F Sport AWD.

Another version we'll see is the familiar hybrid one, using Lexus's 2.5-litre lump, a generator, motor and battery. This NX 300h will produce a total of 195bhp, though emissions will slip under 120g/km of CO2, and fuel economy is being targeted at 54.3mpg.

This hybrid version will also come with specific chassis settings, including new adaptive sprung-weight dampers for better ride quality.

Considering the X3 is sold only as a diesel SUV, Lexus makes no mention of a diesel in the NX line-up, but it doesn't see the point, considering the economy of this hybrid more or less tees up with the Germans, and boasts significantly lower CO2 emissions. Plus, the diesel market is a European thing, and this will be a global car.

Otherwise you get the choice of new adaptive dampers, along with a full-range panoramic monitor, and adaptive cruise control. There are other systems on board too, such as lane departure alert, a blind spot monitor and a head-up display.

The interior - complete with that thick-rimmed steering wheel, contrast textures and quilted seat upholstery - looks like a plush, pleasant environment too, and rear passenger head room's excellent. We know 'cause we've just sat in it. Luggage space for UK cars won't be as much as the 555 litres Lexus claims, but that's because in the UK people insist on a space-saver spare wheel not a tyre-fix kit.

There are no prices for the turbo, which comes a month or two later. But the 300h base model FWD is £29,495, the. AWD starts at £31,495, topping out at £42,995. All models get LED headlights as well as daytime running lights and adaptive cruise control.

So, what do you reckon? Being an SUV, it's tipped to take up a large chunk of Lexus sales, and the likelihood is this is the Lexus you'll see on the roads more than any other of their models. But would you consider one over the German efforts?

From the article above, the 2.0t in the NX will make about the same numbers as the Q5 and X3 2.0t's.

Q5: 220 hp./4450-6000 rpm 258 lb. ft. 1500-4300 rpm
X3: 240 hp./5000-6500 rpm 260 lb. ft. 1450-4800 rpm

different country, different prices.... it has nothing to do with US prices, it costs the same as IS300h in UK.

Another new video on NX - NX static launch video - courtesy from Lexus Enthusiast

Good to see the location of the heated steering wheel function - 1:11 - left bottom corner, below the driver's air vent.

Yesterday, a lot of European Lexus distributors announced equipment levels and we had interviews with head of Lexus:
- Lexus expects NX to be 30% of 2015 Lexus sales worldwide (>200k)
- Some Lexus countries expect their Lexus sales to double with NX (Italy was quoted).
- Polish equipment list shows completely different levels than UK (as usual), also shows that leather dash is standard, with base car having cloth seats, then next up nuluxe, then real leather.
- Boot is 555 leathers with tyre kit, and 488l with spare tire.
- Door handles have LED's throwing light up and down, and are puddle lamps.
- Radar cruise sensors are mounted behind amblem, leaving grille clean.
- Seems like precrash and radar cruise control (full stop) will be in base car in many other countries as well.
- HUD is 6.2" (very wide)
- Impressions from the car is that it looks new (not like other cars) and that it has high quality interior.
