Digital mirror
Told the dealer I would never use the digital mirror. My spouse told the dealer we would never use it. Turns out we were both wrong and now never turn it off. The digital mirror gives you a wide view of the back without the posts, headrests, or anything else. You can see several lanes behind you while driving, in parking lots, and at stops. The mirror ignores the problems related to tinted windows when it starts to get dark.
Use it for 60 days and then try to go back to the regular mirror. The only negative is that you have to remember to use the visor mirror if you want to see if you have any food in your teeth.
I wear progressive lenses and thought at first the mirror was bad.
After 100miles I was absolutely convinced they were much better.
But then I changed my glasses.
Standard progressives do not have such a wide field of vision. So twisting your head is needed.
I began to wonder what I saw in the digital mirror.
When I went back to Zeiss drivesafe lenses then I again had the full advantage of digital mirror.
Instead of moving my head,
I just flick my eyes to the mirror to have a perfectly clear view.
The combination is amazingly good.
So if you wear lenses, try Zeiss, you may find the full advantage.

I don’t think it distracts me but the brightness of the headlights does make it difficult sometimes to see what is in the mirror because the camera is so different from a mirror.
a) like many cameras, at night when viewing bright lights (aka other car headlights) the camera produces a glare around the light, and dark areas can be a bit grainier which does not affect the typical mirror. I would say its less bright than an ordinary mirror in day view position as there is some automatic adjustment in light level. It is a tad brighter than an ordinary mirror in the night view position. Its not really a distraction though, just my own observations and doesn't really limit its function.
b) The refresh rate on the mirror's screen isn't super fast. That means that when a car passes you in the opposite direction, their tail lights instead of just being red lights moving thru the field of view, show as a streak of red light so can for an instant out of the corner of my eyes appear like flashing red lights. That can be a bit distracting until you get used to it, after all, who likes to see flashing red lights in their rear view mirror.
Two issues at night.

It is harder to see cars in the digital rearview mirror at night. I can see their headlights, but not a full view of the vehicle. That being said, I don't get blinded by the car lights at night either. Another thing I really like about my digital mirror is that I can lift the flap on the cargo cover and stop lights & sunlight from shining through the rear window and on my grandbabies (rear-facing car seats) without obstructing my view. No more sun in their little eyes.
To address the glare issue at night, has anyone attempted to add an anti-glare film either on the digital rearview camera lens or on the section of the window directly in the camera's line of sight?
No I have not but I’d be curious to see if someone would do that if it helps because the glare is really quite something!
I've had my 2022 NX 350h for almost a year and a half. I had not really used the digital mirror much at all. I viewed it as a novelty. For Thanksgiving, we took a family trip with 4 adults, 15 hours of driving each way. The back was packed almost to the roof, so we had to use the digital mirror. I was pretty impressed with it. I'm not sure if I'll use it all the time now, but it seems to work very well.
