what kind of phone do you have? you have android auto installed (if it's not a google phone, it may not have it as part of the system). is your phone paired to your car otherwise? you can also choose to manually make it connect to android auto in settings

Hi, thanks for the reply

I use S21+
Yes I do have AndroidAuto installed and it connects well if I use a wire

If I use bluetooth connection without AAuto, I mean just for media and phone, this works fine too

do you have a vpn (eg adguard even?) running on the phone? wireless AA/CP don't work with vpn

in your vehicle's settings (i think connections and etc..), for connected phone, should see option to connect BT for audio, calls and/or AA. do you see that?
if all that don't work, i can only suggest removing phone (BT connection as well) from car and reinstall.

Yes I get all options (Use For Phone is up there but doesn't appear in the pic)
I can either choose Use For Phone and/or Use For Media together
or choose Use For Android Auto on it's own
But if I click on Connect (for AAuto) nothing happens, The screen kind of blinks to acknowledge that I pressed something but nothing happens at all

Once I connect the wire to the phone and click Connect, it does immediately

That is all inline with what was advertise when the car was released (AAuto is Wired, AppleCP is Wireless). But then People started to claim that they can connect AAuto wirlessly

I don't use any kind of VPN, also if it matters I don't live in the US and I haven't had update since I got the car on late March (update not available)

Anyway I can force update it even if I'm not getting prompt? maybe this would solve the problem

That’s the correct setting on the car. My Pixel 6 works fine on wireless. Maybe check your Bluetooth permissions and settings. Same for the android auto app. As suggested, delete the Bluetooth from the car and retry. If all else fails call the tech specialist at the dealer.

Thanks jatwell & I forgot to thanks again nitrolada

I did try to delete my phone from the car and re introduce it, didn't work :(

My next service is in October, I guess I'll ask them to do something about it by then

So you don't live in the US or Canada? If so then please be aware that, as far as I am aware, the 2022 NX in countries outside of the US and Canada (and possibly Japan?) does not come with wireless Android Auto. For example, here in the UK we don't yet have it (only wired). Not sure why but I believe it could be due to a licensing issue. Rumours have it that the functionality may be turned on via a software upgrade towards the end of this year.

Just thought I'd mention this to prevent you from hunting down a feature that is not available in your territory.

There are third-party solutions such as adaptors that plug into your car's USB port that give you a flavour of wireless AA (search the web for "Motorola MA1" or "AAWireless") if you prefer not to wait for Lexus to turn it on some time in the future.

Thanks for the info
That'll save me a lot of headache :) Yes I live out of these areas (Middle East, Asia)
I hope they do turn it on by the end of the year, if not I'll have to either get one of those adapters (thanks for the idea) or switch to iPhone

AA&CP provides wireless CarPlay and embeds android os on Lexus, whatever you have AA or not, it embeds AA in the car and you can connect AA via Bluetooth, the more you could expect, is its video streaming feature, which means you could cast Youtube or videos from phone to car screen.

2024 Lexus ES unable to use wireless AAuto adaptor

Hi

Just bought a brand new 2024 Lexus ES 300h in Perth, however Android Auto is not launching when using a wireless Android Auto adaptor. I have tried the motorola ma1 and also 3 other types of adaptors. It seems that the system does repeatedly try to open Android auto when a notification pops up go say Android auto failed to launch.

Anyone else experiencing the same issue?

Just a quick thing to check - on the Android Auto settings on your phone, click on the 3 dots at the top right of the screen and choose "Developer settings" (if this option doesn't appear then you'll need to enable "Developer mode" by tapping on "Version" 10 times). Under the "Developer settings" ensure that "Wireless Android Auto" is checked.
