Did you know the NX backup camera has a washer for those who have to handle snow in the winter?

How do you activate the washer?

When spray the back window, it will also wash the camera.

 

Is this on all NX models or is this a add on option?

 

I believe it's on all models that have Lexus parking assist monitor - which is all NXs...

Old thread but I've found this feature very helpful during our first winter of ownership.

 

Wait what? This whole time I’ve been getting out of the car and running the camera with my finger lol.

 

Give it a try and how you don't need to rub the back camera anymore. It's a great washer... I wish they had the same for the front camera as well.

 

LOL, same as you I’ve always use my fingers to clean all 4 cameras until I realized it has a washer for the rear camera not too long ago. As mentioned above wish it would have a washer for the front camera as well but not really a deal breaker. Can’t ask for too much tech for only a Lexus NX 😆

 

This back up camera washer the best new feature on the 2nd Gen NX. You will know when you live in are where it snows. Wiping down the rear camera every few days in the winter was not fun in the 1st gen NX.

This will be specific feature I look for when buying new cars with back up camera going forward.
it's like the power lift gate, once you have it, you can't go back.

 

I agree - a great feature that should be on all cars. When I put in reverse after driving in snow or rain, a quick wash and all is clear! Funny how a little feature like this can be so helpful. As an aside, this is our first car with auto sensing windshield wipers. Driving today in our "atmospheric river" conditions in CA, it proved very helpful in keeping my eyes on the road and not having to constantly adjust the wiper settings.
