Horrible Lexus Warranty Experience
I’ve had horrible experiences with Lexus warranty. No matter what dealership, they never want to cover anything and I always have to apply pressure even to diagnose an issue. More issues than I can list.
here was my most recent issue:
literally had countless visits describing my creaking suspension.
They kept telling me the car was fine and then they kept putting me back in a loaner.
my front two struts and control arm bearing - all 3 had to be replaced under warranty. Didn’t expect them to fail at 58k miles. So much for Toyota quality.
now comes this steering wheel button. My cruise control distance button that I never use randomly developed a crack. Lexus denied warranty saying it’s from outside influence. I raised the request to corporate and corporate offered to cover the part but I have to pay $600 labor for install. That’s just ridiculous. How is it outside influence if I almost never even touch the button? lol

Go to delarrater https://www.dealerrater.com/ and write an accurate, objective review. Usually, they will respond and fix the problem.
Good Luck

Maybe look up your dealers to see if the Better Business Bureau or similar gives them a crappy rating. It seems a bit of a stretch that a plastic part would crack, probably no sign of it being struck or have damage marks, yet it cracked. That's due to poor materials and workmanship of manufactured part and not wear and tear or abuse. I mean you gotta touch the damn thing every once in a while to use the switch, it should last the life of the vehicle!
Poor dealership experiences for this type of warranty work is the foremost reason why they can't keep technicians employed there. They up and leave because of all the 'crap' they're asked to put up with from their management not willing to provide them with a decent earning matrix. Warranty will probably only cover a portion of the true hours needed to remove and replace parts. So Tech is forced to push back and say 'it's fine' and move on, rather than say it takes 4 hours to do the work, why is my manager only willing to pay me 2 hours? Well Lexus will only pay 2 hours to do work. It's a deadly cycle leading to further and further brain drain on the auto mechanic / technician work force out there. It's truly a crying shame. I've read plenty of stories about comparisons to plumbers and electricians that make a hell of a lot more money and hardly no 'flack' for their set pricing and labour rates.
Here's a video that provides some insight.

Thanks for the insight!
Lexus called me back, said they would cover the part and labor as a “one time courtesy”… lol
Ha Ha! Yes they want you to understand that they have chosen to take pity on you and allow you to get 'special' treatment but only once! They say that all the time when I push them to admit they're not being fair.
