Michellin Defender 2 ?
Must be for the 18" wheel given I don't see that for the 20" wheel.
I have the Defender on the RX and they are awesome tires. The ride is quite and smooth. Not too firm or soft so it's in the middle of the road.

Just yesterday we replaced our Bridgestone run flats on a 23 RX with just 12,000 miles with Michelin primacy. These are on my RX. Even though I only have 12,000 on it it looks like it'll be a good mileage very quiet very smooth. Just driving home from the Lexus dealership they seem so much quieter and smoother. The run flats for 12,000 mi almost to the tread bar

These two tires are not really in the same class. The Defenders are traditional "all season" tires, which many people just refer to as "summers". The CC2 is an "all weather" tire, better suited to a full mix of year round summer and winter driving. Most people want the CC2 because they deal with more foul weather driving but don't necessarily want to swap to dedicated winter tires. If you don't deal with too much wintry weather, or especially if you already plan to use dedicated winter tires, the D2s are likely going to be the better choice for exactly the reasons you state.
The above is correct. Great tires and no 20” option. I love my CC2’s.
I have purchased both the Michelin Defender and the Cross Climate 2 tires and I like the CC2 better than the Defender. Both are good tires but, tread life is far better with the CC2, with no discernible difference in road noise or ride quality. When these harsh riding and noisy runflats wear out, I'm replacing them with CC2's.

I'm going to try and holdout for the new Michelin Primacy 5. Apparently it's out in Europe in limited sizes, not in 20 " yet, but more availability is forthcoming as production ramps up. Hope this comes to Canada soon! Before my OE wear out. I have separate winters so these would be great for a summer tire. Made several improvements over Primacy 4.

At 31k miles now, I'll need to change them out next spring 2026 as the shelf life is usually 6 yrs and I don't want to take any chances even though I have decent tread left.
At first I was all about getting CC2s for replacement as I need an All-Weather tire because of my location, but ever since I saw Primacy 5s were coming out I will weigh all my options as Primacy 5s aren't(?) all weather tires, but I've been happy with the 4s since we bought the vehicle last year and went thru winter just fine.
Your link didn't say when they were being released in the States, just that it was in 2025. I hope they're released with enough time for a reviews before I go to replace tires next spring.
I was thinking the same thing as my NX has the original Primacy 4s on them from new 03 / 2020.

A guy on the forum with my same MY and also original Primacy 4s took his to 60k+ miles -- I actually think more like almost 80k miles, mostly highway, easy driving, 20k miles/year, but would have to go back and look for sure. And mine still have 5/32 left at our 30k mile service interval.
What Primacy's were they? Were they an earlier version than Primacy 4?

I know the mileage warranty from Michelin is a little longer for CC2's than the Primacy. I have them on my other car and they're wearing well so far, 50k miles and still 3/4 tread left. I've bought Michelin for over 20 years now and am happy with their products.
I found the thread -- he took the Primacy 4s to 81k miles -- see Post #2 and Post #6 on this thread:

Highly recommend the Michelin Defender with its 80K warranty. Had these on both my RX and my wife's Camry. Sold my wife's Camry with 20K on the tires and they looked brand new! They give you a zero mileage warranty on the run flats. Not sure what I'm going to do when the BS runflats need replacing. Lexus really left us in the lurch with not providing a spare even though it's on the base Canada model. It was already there and easy to do? Not sure I want to go through the hassle of setting up a spare without giving these run flats a chance. It probably depends on if I can get 30K out of the run flats but that might be a stretch!
