The email is a bit misleading as it does say your digital key is expiring and enjoy for another 7 years but does not mention that remote connect extends with it.

No, I wasn’t suggesting a lawsuit. I was wondering if there was a lawsuit in the US and this 10 year agreement for US cars was part of the settlement on that particular suit. Just pondering out loud. Sorry I wasn’t clear.
I watched the video and read through this and I guess I missed it. How do you turn off the nagging offer for the drive connect every time I start the car?
Has anyone called Lexus and tried to get a discount on it since it’s now $15 a month for the basic drive connect? The only reason I want it is it shows up on my head up display and I love that.

Before I watch the whole thing, is there a way to make that screen go away that wants you to subscribe to drive connect? Other than purchasing it, of course.

I called Lexus about discount and they said no.
To get anyone on the line I had to tell the system yr model of car, after 12 tries where it every time read back something else I somehow got someone. Half an hour later and two transfers I got correct department. Each transfer they have to get approval first. 😒
On hold now with their IT to see if a way around this.
NO, there isn’t they said. I realize I am not the first one to do this, but I wanted to try. I mainly wanted to see if there was a discount cause I miss seeing the turn by turn in my heads up display.
Just a little opinion here, when you open an app on your phone, you are inviting an advertisement to be the first thing you see, but when you get into a car that you own and turn on your infotainment system and you’re forced to look at an advertisement, that isn’t right. You could argue that the free subscriptions invites them to do this, but don’t they belong to us if they give them to us regardless of how we pay for them? Just ranting.

There are times where CarPlay or Android Auto will load and you don't see that screen. That is what I showed in the video. If you want turn by turn in the HUD, you can go get an iPhone and use Apple maps. It will show up in the HUD; however, there is a bug that shows only 5 letters of the street names, but I heard that it might be fixed in the upcoming release (not confirmed yet).

something about full guidance so I don’t know the difference but it’s working great and yes, some of the words are cut off. Looks like a four or five character limit or something. Just a matter of space I guess.
And while I had Apple Maps open in the system when I turned the car off, when I turned it back on, it did show the advertisement and then to the maps a second later so I hope it keeps doing that. Assume we’ll have to have the maps open every time you turn the car off though.

Asked ChatGPT, but I can’t figure it out how to see alternate routes when Apple Maps comes up on the screen and CarPlay when I ask for a location I just get the one route and I haven’t been able to figure out even how to use the app on the phone yet to create a route. I don’t see a start button help anybody thanks.
