I’ve been procrastinating updating my iPhone cause I don’t want it to affect Car Play on my 2024 NX450.

Am I just paranoid, are the earlier issues rectified?

 

Everything seems working with newest update
Beta versions always cause problems with some apps

 

No new issues with 18.1.1 for me (ony the existing iOS 18 HUD navigation text issue)

 

Not sure what issues to expect but it works fine for me on 18.1.1

 

18.2 beta is fine

 

I've been waiting to update my ios also. I wish there were some way to get Lexus or Apple to fix the HUD Apple maps nav issue.

 

That’s why I planned on delaying the update! But I must’ve accidentally hit “later” when promoting by the phone because I woke up to it already updated 😬 I don’t have auto updates turned on. Hope Apple Maps works okay, I use it a lot.

 

My dealership said calling Lexus directly is the best way. I did it and they made it seem like it's the first they've heard of it unfortunately, sigh.

 

I used Apple Maps today after the 18.1.1 update. I skipped the first 18 update after hearing all the complaints. So far so good on the latest version though. Maybe those who still have the Nav HUD issue after the earlier update should try this one. Apple may have quietly fixed the problem.

 

Strange, 18.1.1 didn't fix my HUD issue (text is truncated after 5 characters per line). Wonder if it's a 450 vs 350 thing? I wouldn't think so but who knows.

 

I updated from 17 to 18.1.1 today and I the Maps app is only showing 5 letters and ... on the HUD I'm curious what your secret sauce is. I'm also still wondering where to report the issue. I'm thinking Apple ios?

 

Same issue with me ... I just updated my iPhone 15 Pro from IOS 17.x to 18.1.1 today and now I'm only seeing 5 letters of the address in HUD. In the grand scheme of things I'm not particularly bothered by it and expect it to get fixed in an update at some point but just sharing for info. I notice a few minor look and feel improvements in CarPlay otherwise, and i've been on version 2170 of the Lexus SW for a while now. I have a 350H.

 

‘is this an Apple Maps thing or a CarPlay. I haven’t received my NXH yet but my choice of poison is Google Maps in our RXH

 

I haven’t used google maps but I use Waze which was bought by google a while back. It doesn’t display correctly in the hud. Now I just use Lexus nav with Waze displaying on the big screen.

 

If you have Waze just displaying, without a destination set, does it still alert you to all the hazards, police, etc? I pose the same question about have apple maps just displaying. Also don't you have to flip over to Lexus nav for other things, like your ETA?
