For those that have had their fuel doors replaced. How long did it take to get the part?

 

Had mine done last Tuesday. Took about a week for the parts to arrive. I had to delay the installation due to a planned trip, so for me was 2 weeks overall. Converted to refuelings, was about 3 (LOL).

And they didn't replace the door itself. Appears that the parts supporting the door and/or the latch were replaced. Otherwise, they would have to paint the fuel doors to match each car.

 

An upcoming trip is what we're concerned with, thanks!

 

Had mine done a few months back and it took over a month for parts to come in. Seems they're getting better with shorter delivery dates. The door if replaced comes already painted as do replacement side mirrors. Mine was and colour was perfect match. They had to come by a month later and put a fresh sticker on inside for recommended gasoline octane ratings. The door alignment still was crappy afterwards on mine. The dealer is blaming the chintzy plastic hinge components. My door now has what appears to be a stronger spring mechanism so the door opens with more authority now. I'll be re-lubing the latch tab every six months or so too so it doesn't start to stick again.
PLUS I'm keeping a plastic autobody trim pry tool on hand too just in case I have to force open the door if I have issues again.

 

Why do you need to have the fuel door replaced, is there a problem with them?

 

The spring that pops it open when you press the button loses its tension so that when you press the button, nothing happens. I believe there's a TSB on it.

 

Thanks for the information, mine is working fine so I guess I will leave it alone.

 

A few days for ours. Had the issue in February.

 

i'm in Ontario Canada, after I arranged an appointment with a local dealer, they replaced the assembly on the same day.
