Hello, I am brand new to lexus and hybrids. I just got my NX350h. I hear the engine fan turns on and off too often, even when the coolant temperature is lower than the mid. That’s on a city drive when the heating is on - fan, seats and steering wheel. I am wondering if this is normal?

 

I suspect what you are hearing is the gas engine turning on/off. This is normal for the 350h. The gas engine shuts off and turns back on often while driving.

 

I notice there is a fan that turns on and off periodically when the engine is not running. It must cool the hybrid components, I assume?
