Total Average MPG question
On the dash display (behind the steering wheel) my NX350h has always displayed the Total Average mpg. There wasn't a way to see the MPG on the current trip or tank. This has been the case since I got the car in June. I came to appreciate the overall total MPG because that's the number that really counts as I see it. I'm currently at 43.3 after 3385 miles. Today--out of the blue--the 43.3 number vanished. Now the MPG is for the current trip. Each time I start the car the Total Average reverts to zero and then repeats after the next restart. There was an earlier thread about having something other than the actual Total Average but the conclusion was the default is the Total Average.
Anyone have an answer on how to have the display show the actual Total Average MPG as it did until today??
Thanks.

any chance you hit update on the trip screen? Based on my knowledge, I plan to click on trip update after each fuel fill so the total average is since i put gas in. No one seems to have a perfect understanding how this all works, but i do know update zeros out the behind steering wheel display.

Not sure if the "h" has a slightly different version of software, but on mine, there are 3 fuel economy related drive info displays that can be displayed within the dash. 1) instantaneous fuel consumption and average fuel consumption (and as others have said, the "Update" button within the vehicle infortainment stats screen for historical fuel consumption can reset the average). 2) Speed and Driving Time 3) Distance to empty and current trip fuel economy.
While you have tried the "update" button, it sounds to me like you have toggled from one drive information display on the dash to the other. Just hit the up/down buttons on the left side to select a new display (assuming no HUD, HUD buttons may be a bit different and some displays might be on the HUD instead of the dash)..

I appreciate the feedback. Very helpful. I think my error was doing Clear Data. It erased the previous Total Average and started a new Total Average. My mistake was assuming the Vehicle Page in settings was all that would be reset.
I am annoyed at this feature implementation in the 350H. In our '20 UX, you could reset the trip fuel consumption just by holding down the "ok" button on the steering wheel. Now in the NX, you need to get in the Lexus app (from Carplay, you have to click on apps button), find the setting, click on it, find the reset button and click on that. Way too many clicks for a simple operation. If I recall, my 1st Gen NX had the same reset functionality...
