9" inch screen vs 14" screen
I bought mine off the lot. It has a smaller screen. I haven't used the largest screen but I have no problem with the smaller screen it's fine. It's big enough it does what it's supposed to do.
Regarding the 14" vs. 9" screen, I never noticed the difference until Android Auto went to the split screens. With the split screens, having Google Maps on 2/3 of the wide screen makes a big difference. With a 9" screen, the split screen with Google Maps is noticeably squished. This is especially true when using making a phone call or switching music because Google Maps then is placed on the 1/3 of the screen on the right and is much harder to read.
After spending almost a year of first casually and eventually seriously considering purchasing the NX350h it became obvious that you took what you could get. If you wanted a white or black exterior there were plenty of choices of various options but we wanted a color. Consequently when things aligned and we were ready to pull the trigger at the same time that a couple of dealers had colors coming in, if the car had the 14" screen we would have gone for that but if not we would have been fine with the "standard" screen and that is how it turned out for us. If there were 2 identical Redlines at the dealer where one had the 9.8 and one had the 14, I still am not sure if we would have felt the extra few inches was worth another $1,000+. HOWEVER it did **** me off after getting the car when I found out the navigation was not included for the 9.8 but was included for the 14. Of course I suspect most folks end up relying on the nav on their phones via Carplay or Android Auto but, still, I would have liked to try out the nav from Lexus. If there was a couple of months free trial I would go for that but it looks like I need to subscribe off the bat for the nav. True it's only $15 a month, I believe, but what irks me is that when you are in the $50K neighborhood and buying a "luxury" level vehicle, it just seems ultra cheesy not to have including something like a free nav subscription.
I totally agree!! One of the reasons my wife keeps the screen turned off. Who wants to look at that blue screen that basically says, "I'm sorry you're too cheap to pay for navigation." Especially when, historically, Lexus' navigation leaves a lot to be desired compared to our phones.
I just want to clarify that hey lexus works with the 9” screen also. That may not have been clear, if that is important to you. I’ve had only one time I couldn’t find a setting and just hey lexused it.

Yeah I understand your annoyance at this as I get the same thing. It is kind of like those popups on your PC from McAfee nagging you that your antivirus has expired and you need to renew.
