(edited) Quick question on the "voice command" function - If you don't have Drive Connect subscription, is there some dumber version of "voice command" feature that is build in with the 2nd gen NX (or Lexus in general) ?

 

Mine will do any car function and will use any phone paired app. Are you asking if they work today? Because the wife says the thing has been spotty for a week. Hoping for an update at the next service.

 

I had to turn mine off. It got to a point where anything would trigger it from random convos to music. It's even worst than Siri

 

Thanks for the reply. So even without the subscription, you can still say "hey lexus" to make it turn on AC, etc.? That sounds very nice!

 

Yes. I am old school and didn't want to pay duplicating for something my phone was capable of doing. Most cars have been capable of this for at least 7-8 years, so nothing new really.

My hey lexus seems to be doing much better now, after wiping both phone connections and reentering the pin, which is when I found out that, apparently, you can only set one phone email to remote function the car, but up to 5 phones when driving. Hopefully that changes in an update as well. She also told me I couldn't ask for the QR code from my seat, and a second time when I leaned over speaking to the headliner mic on the other side too. jeez, crabby patty!
