Default Activity Mount Receiver

Just bought a new 2023 NX 350 and awaiting delivery while they install roof racks and an Activity Mount. I wanted to get a jump on buying a bike rack while I am waiting. That said, I have 2 questions. (1) Is the receiver on the activity mount 1 1/4"? (2) Looking to buy the Kuat Sherpa 2.0. Does anyone know if that rack will permit adequate distance between the tailgate and the bikes or is an extension required? Thanks in advance for any welcomed feedback.

Regards,
Chuck

there are multiple threads here on this subject. From what I remember the OEM activity mount is 1 1/4, but is recessed too far back which does not allow for attaching bike racks to it easily.

I would go through the threads before buying the activity mounts. There are aftermarket hitches now that are more practical. Lexus.com also lists an OEM Hitch for the 2024, but when I asked the parts department, they did not know anything about it

I use a Thule T2 Pro XTR and have for several years with 2 RX and now with my NX450h+ . I am more than happy with it. hey come With either a 1 1/4" or a 2" mount so you have to be sure to order the correct one. Because my previous cars had a 2" receiver the rack was a 2". Less expensive than buying a new Bike Rack was getting a hitch adapter (2" to 1 1/4"). It is working fine. I'm not sure how to post a photo but will try in another reply post

Default Kuat Sherpa 2.0

Hi Chuck,

did you end up picking up a Kuat Sherpa 2.0? Need an extender?

I'm removing my receiver cross bar portion from 350 F-Sport tomorrow for looks alone (4 bolts with easy access) but keeping it for later possible use.

P.S. Now hitch bar is off the back of this NX looks better I shaved crap ton of weight back there. This thing weights about 35-45 lbs it feels.
