Yes. Your 2018 model came with the updated headunit. My 2015 NX cannot update to applecarplay with a software update. Third party manufacturers can add the additional processors via plug and play kits. The dashboard has to be pulled apart however to add the kit..

We will just need to see what is the outcome as I am aware that the current headunit records video already.

Not a storage issue. Storage occurs on a removable USB stick.
The current units can read a USB stick etc. Not aware they can record video?

If it's a dashcam feature, the car should have storage. The USB is to allow the data from the storage to the USB so that you can review it on computer.

No... it seems to be exclusively available in Japan. Not aware of other markets having such feature.

Default Where is the dashcam memory card located?

I have the same integrated lexus dashcam installed. The recorded videos can be played back on the central multimedia system. I need to use "My drive recorder viewer" to download the videos, but it was too slow. I spent days searching for memory card. Unfortunately, I couldn't find the memory card location. Does anyone know where is the memory card installed, or located? Thank you so much.

It should be inside the camera itself

Unfortunately, that's not the case. I have searched for the memory card location throughout the car, around dash cam, around the center multimedia console area, around charging ports area, around arm rest compartment, around passenger side storage compartment. I have also asked for google, chat gpt, some physical car accessory shops. car dealer shops. None of them could give me an answer.
I even suspected the videos were recorded and saved onto an internal integrated hard-disk system. I tried to use a laptop to connect to charging/data ports, hoping to read something out of the internal system. There was also no luck.
I have also asked the same questions on multiple forums, some youtubers, frankly, none of them had an answer.

If you have the Driver Recorder feature on your car and not the integrated dashcam that is sold in North America. This is like the new RAV4 which use the cars' built in camera as the dashcam. I don't think there is a memory car and it uses the cars memory. You need to connect the app to the infotainment system and download it from there. That is one negative thing with this system that you cannot download it that easy. Did you try plugging in a USB and see if it can copy onto a USB?

That's right, scrolling through and selecting videos to download via "My drive recorder viewer" is extremely laggy and slow. I have not tried plugging in a USB drive yet, good tips and thank you so much.
