Default 2018 nx300 headlight condensation

Hey All !

I recently moved to a new place with underground parking and I also wash my car inside . One day I got back home during a very cold day .Washed my car right away .
The next day I left work when I was walking towards the car I realized that there was frost in both headlight housings . After a while it disappeared completely.
I still have 2 months warranty . Is this a normal reaction caused by temperature change or because I washed my car ? should i mention it on my next service ?

Thanks in advance

Not normal and will get worse over time. Lexus will very likely tell you yes that is normal.

Condensation due to temperature changes are considered normal, BUT! Water beads are a different story.

My 2018 NX started to develop a water leak last summer, initial visit to dealer resulted in a wasted trip since nothing was seen due to it drying up after a few days. They told me take photos so next time they could justify any warranty work.

Finally took it in with a bunch of photos from both sides during multiple incidents, which always was after driving highway speed during a rainstorm.

After removing the bumper and noticing cracks in both assemblies, not caused by any obvious collision or external damage, dealer agreed it’s a defect.

Waiting till parts come in from Japan, about $4,000 Canadian for both headlamps. Covered by 4 year warranty.

From Nissan document, I think it best explains the difference between condensation and leak.

Photo of my leak which dealer accepted as proof.

Hey ,

Thanks for the info. They ended up replacing both of my headlights under the 4 year warranty. I was glad they did especially considering the price
