Hi all,

I did my usual 5k oil change today, and it has been a few thousand miles since I have checked the brake pads. These factory pads are amazing. Of course this is all highway mileage, but look at the amount of pad left. It's crazy.

Any chance your car is hybrid NX 300h? I read that hybrid break pads last much much longer.

Probably hybrid NX. My CT200h lasted 160,000km. My NX200t F Sport brakes were down to almost metal at 75,000km.

That doesn't mean the pads are "great." That just means you aren't using your brakes that much. Also for a performance oriented driver or car, brakes that last long mean they're using a low-friction compound. So "great" can mean different things. Also you don't have to pay $160 for pads. You can get economy front pads for the NX200t for $15 a front pair (yes fifteen) or $33 for a high end german brand (a BMW supplier) using the OE compound. (thirty three bucks)

Pads are dirt cheap on most cars.

What sort of OEM pads and rotors does the NX use? Anyone know the brand names? Are they dusty european pads?
