Poor cross traffic alert
I bought a new NX300h this year. I’m happy with it except for the very poor cross traffic alert. I can barely hear it and sometimes it doesn’t sound until the car is almost behind me. The other alert sounds are fine. The dealer says it’s working normally and there is no way to adjust the volume. Is anybody else dissatisfied with this feature? It was much more sensitive and very loud in my 2014 Lincoln MKZ.
I'm truly spoiled by my 2017's backup alerting. Not only does it give me plenty of warning of other vehicles coming my way, but it even alerts me to relatively small children and dogs.
The volume is equally as loud as it is for other alerts, and is actually easier to hear because I'm never going fast enough in reverse for there to be road noise...
My wife's Audi does not have the alert system, and I have to remember to be extra vigilant when driving it...

Interesting. Our 2019 ES is the same way - at least in terms of not warning until the car/bicycle/wagon or whatever is nearly behind us. Our 2016 NX (and 2015 ES) was much better and alerted from a greater angle. I haven’t noticed that our 2019 Lexus alert is particularly quiet but we don’t have many miles on it yet. Anyone know if there is a sensitivity setting on the cross traffic alert?
