Default Displaying SMS and emails

When I bought my 15 NX200, driving home it popped notification on the display with text message. Ever since, it never happened again.
Phone is connected fine, BT is working fine, I have all relevant settings set as needed for full blown display of SMS or emails on the info screen. No go. I have to manually get to them, what tells me - vehicle actually does have access to them on the phone.
I normally drive with Home screen on - Audio/MPG/Climate.
Does it have to be in some sort of a different display or set up to notify on incoming SMS? I do receive plenty of job related ones driving to work and it would be nice to be able to see them on a go.
Just read User Guide, it does not really go into such a detail. Just says how to enable, but that's it.

And yes, I read 3 other threads on similar topic. Not much help either.
I do have navigation, if it matters. I use Android, Galaxy Note.

When you say you have all the relevant settings set for SMS on your phone, are you allowing notifications to appear on the lock screen or do you have it set differently? I believe your lock screen notification settings can imkpact what the car receives. I'm on a Note 8, can you also double-check the following BT settings on the phone?

thank you. yes, it's all enabled. Vehicle does access phone for messages, I can navigate to them via Menu buttons. But it does not notify me - or show them - when I am driving. Again, I drive with Home screen on all the time.
Something tells me you have to be in Phone screen for notifications to pop up. Though I might be wrong. Not that it's something I have to die for but nice to feel technology, actually.

Interesting that it worked for you initially but not now. It should work whether the screen is on/off, and locked or not too. Any chance you also have a smart watch paired that is intercepting the messages before the car receives it? What about umpairing and repairing again?

It sounds exactly like my troubles with my 2 phones. I picked my NX up in October 15 and texts/emails worked - had a Galaxy S5 on Android 4.x. Couple weeks later the phone updated to Android 5.x and it broke displaying texts/emails on the screen but phone calls worked fine. Around the time the S5 updated to Android 6.x, I changed to an S7 which came pre-loaded with Android 6.x and the screen functionality was still broken on both phones. Would always bring it up to the dealership whenever I was there for service, they'd have techs try their phones and it would work, and they would check for updated software for the car but I had the newest version. I would also try un-pairing and re-pairing the phones to the vehicle and no luck there either except for the very odd occurrence that one or two texts or e-mails would display but then it would stop working again.

Fast forward to when the S7 got updated to Android 7.x, I didn't really do anything different with the phone or the settings on the phone, got in the vehicle to go somewhere and low and behold texts and e-mails were working again, and have been working since even after all the security updates they've done to the phone. Hopefully Android 8.x doesn't break it again.

If you have an older phone that doesn't have or won't get Android 7.x I don't think you'll get it working again as I think it's something Samsung broke or changed in their version of the OS for the phones when they went from 4.x to 5.x that remained unchanged until 7.x came out. What's weird is when I'd Google search for info I couldn't find anyone else that really had the issue?

In my 18 NX i wasn't getting any notification had to go manually to read them, I fixed that by going in notifications settings on the car I had to change incoming sms/mms display to full screen from the drop down

Care to elaborate on how you did this?

No, I do not have anything else connected or even inside the car. Just my old faithful Galaxy Note 4. Phone works with the car just fine otherwise.

It maybe different between the 18 NX and the 15 NX, but I went into setup>phone>notifications>incoming sms/mms display and change to full screen. Note the phone must be connected via bluetooth for this setting to appear.
