trunk won't open
 

for some reason the trunk won't open with any button. it just beeps twice. i can lift it manually and close it manually but no other way to open it.

got it. its my wifes car. she turned it off somehow on the cluster.

I think they do that for safety so someone doesn't hit a button if they back in to a garage and know that it would hit a wall or ceiling or something like that. It basically puts it in to manual mode as you found. So, basically it is a safety feature, so to speak.
