That's horrendous. I'm hoping the camera evidence will be able to help identify them. Not asking who they are publicly but wondering if the cops or the body shop circuit has any leads on shady body shops in the area.

This is just crazy and sad!! Unbelievable too!!! They knew what they were after. A dremmel could do this very easily. We use them to cut cars at work. (Fire Dept).

Sadly I don't think watching Craigslist will do much good. Seems like they specifically took parts they needed. It might be worth checking out local body shops and see if you can spot any IS's on their properties

In the end, the part they stole was completely worthless. They stole the Smart Key ECU (also known as the Certification ECU). This part becomes married to the ID Code Box ECU that is behind the dash... so it cannot be reflashed, reset, cleared, or in any other way used unless you had the ID Code Box....
