Default red light violation

so i was driving in hayward on winton about to cross an intersection and there was a 18 wheeler truck in front of me and one on the side of me...they was driving so slow the 18 wheeler truck on the side of me was blocking the stop light and i couldnt see, so i kept going b/c the 18 wheeler in front of me and on the side of me kept going so i went with them...when i got to the middle of the intersection i could see it was a red light, so i looked at the camera and the camera flashed at me...stupid 18 wheelers if they wasnt driving so slow i could of seen if the light was green or red...now heres the thing i got my license plate on the left dash board you guys think they still got my license plate?? man i aint tryna pay $400+ on BS that i didnt know if the light was green or red.

Usually there are cameras shooting from front and rear, so if they didn't see your dash, they would still get the rear. If you get a ticket in the mail, they will provide you with the pics.

Do you think the cameras triggerd off your car only or the trucks as well?

Good luck on this one.

You just need to wait and see if you receive a ticket. If you do, you should have a front picture showing your face and a rear showing the license plate as well as a video stream link so you can review the violation. When you review the video, you can then decide if it shows all signal heads were blocked by both trucks.

I think Hayward also uses Redflex as the redlight camera vendor... I will suggest to at least ask for a signal timing sheet (to check the proper yellow light interval) from City of Hayward.

If you do get a ticket, I believe the video will tell the story. Perhaps you can plead your case to the judge. Good luck.

Don't think the camera in the rear would be blocked by a truck on your side. They are posted to take a complete view of the rear of any vehicle in any lane of a particular intersection. Good Luck!

Dude... you should see me. Busted for right turn on a yellow that turned red. Split second deal and other no cars were moving yet...

Sorry to hear about that.

Prepare to grab you ankles bro... mine cost me about $580. You can try testifying that the semi was blocking your view of the traffic light. If the camera got a shot of the truck, you have a good case and depends on the judge to let it slide. But the judge can also say "if you can't see the traffic light then you should have proceeded with more caution..."
