+1 for Ongpin in South San Francisco. The crispy pata is delicious but definitely not the best thing for you heh..

Honestly I dont think there is anyplace that can replicate realy filipino food due to regional variations and ingredients foreign to SF. Also take into consideration the bay area being a health conscious area you are not going to experience the flavors that you would in the Phillippines. That being said there is a place that is chinese owned but is frequented by 97% filipino. This place is called "Superstar", and if you ask any local pinoy around the area they will tell you that they have the BEST filipino breakfast hands down. For the overinflated prices in filipino restaurants, you can get 2 orders at superstars.

Me and Hyper were just talking last week about meeting & eating over at Gerry's.

Sounds like a mini meet in the making.

If you hold it , THEY WILL COME.

ps- We've had mini meets at Gerry's in UC.

I would be so down for a mini meet at Gerry's. Never been, but heard a lot (of good things) about it.
