Junk yards in the bay area are rare because land value is so high. I have an old Ford 250 camper special and when I looked for a junk yard for parts there was one in East Palo Alto and the obvious Pick your Part in Hayward and Milpitas.

I just checked on the Palo Alto junk yards and in 2002 they were shut down.
Good luck on your search

Even if you find a junkyard, you're most likely not gonna find an SC300 or a Supra sitting there. Your best bet (besides TAP which is way too expensive for a junk-yard) is to contact someone who is parting out their SC or Supra, or ask Gazi (aliga) if he can help you out.

Cheers,
~Alan

You are correct. I drove up and down Monterey Hwy in San Jose over the weekend (where most junk yard are located) and so far none has any Lexus in their lot. I think the best way to get part is list WTB (Want To Buy) in the classified forum and also put it in www.craigslist.org Hopefully you will get respond from someone.

Actually, Pacific Auto has two SCs. They are both SC400s. One I think had roll over damage and one was just hit from the front. They should be able to help you out. They are located right off of Monterey Rd. You make a right on Tully Rd. or Old Tully Rd. (I dont know what they call it anymore). Then a left on 7th st ( I think thats the street ). You go all the way down and it should be there on your left hand side near Luna's Muffler.

how does it work with the junk yards? do make an offer on the parts you want to strip from the car? Or do they dictate the price? Never really understood how that worked.....

junk yards set there own price. I had one time that the junk yard cost more than new.....can you believe it?
