Default PSI tires in NYC

What PSI are you running in NYC and at what size wheels?
Due to all the salt on the NYC roads, there will be massive potholes everywhere. What pressure are you using to protect your shoes?

Keep in mind that higher psi will be safer for wheels but trade off is harsher ride. What psi would be a good balance?

38-40..there are threads that discussed that lexus underinflated the stock tires (stock : 32PSI or is it 35PSI?) to make the ride a softer /easier ride...

With my 19's I'm running 40psi and the ride is pretty damn harsh. Wondering if I should lower it a bit for ride confort but also be safe with the rock salt potholes.
I guess for now I'm keeping it at 40 psi

Thats why I'm rollin on 17's in the winter. The rock salt creates so many potholes on the streets and highways.

Since we are on the subject, anyone have a place to repair chrome rims (curb rash, etc), I just called Whitey's on Atlantic Ave (Bklyn) and was told that there is no place to get them (chrome) fixed in NYC.

Prices?

Poor Freddies in Queens. Rising Sun and myself will be sending our rims there. Maybe we could get a group rate
