New to Lexus! Window Tint Recommendation

Hello guys!

I just purchased 2014 GS 350 and joined the Lexus Club!

Its really getting hot nowadays and I am in need for a window tint. Called Park Place Plano and they wants close to $300. I founds some places in 635 and 35 area for $150~$200. Since its my first luxury car I want to do it right but with affordable price. :)

1) Do you recommend any window tinting places?

2) I'm thinking 20% all around. What do you think? (I am aware its illegal. My GS is White)

Thanks!!

...the prices you quoted (150-200), is about average for this time of year. I would see what type of warranty they offer & which shops have been in operation for the longest. What part of Dallas are you located in ?

Tint darkness has only part of how well they keep the car cool. UV heat reduction is what you want to look at. Here in Dallas, you'll find tint prices all over the place but I refer everyone to Pro Tint in Plano. They have Huper Optik and that tint does an amazing job keeping the inside of cars cool. It's however not cheap but you should ask for a demo of it to see the difference.

Also just because a tint shop offers lifetime warranty, you also want to know how long it has been in business. Any tint place can offer lifetime warranty but if they go out of business, you're out of luck.

I stopped by Pro Tint today on my way out of Dallas back home to Chicago and wish I had another day to stay and have them remove and re-tint my LS460. It's 35% to 30% at best now and I want nothing less than 20%. I saw the work they did on some of their cars in the shop and it's certainly quality work and reasonable prices. At least reasonable compared to Chicago prices as it wasn't until recently that tint became legal. Now that it's legal I'm sure many more places will offer this service resulting in more competition and net result of lower prices. But anyway, Claudio seems to be a good guy and would recommend to those in the DFW area.
