Default Agh....

3 hours 20 minutes from Arlington, VA to Waldorf, MD - about 23 miles.

Did make it in time to vote (MD expanded voting times until 9:30 PM)...McCain - Blow Me....

1 hour 22 minutes this morning...even after leaving 2 1/2 later than usual...

Significantly better than those stuck on 395 S (Mixing Bowl).

Co-worker left at 5PM last night and arrived in Fredricksburg, VA at 11:30 PM.

Decided to drive the RX instead of the IS. Good move....

It sucked BIG TIME,,, for those of you familiar with the Springfield interchange in Va., Took 4.5 hours from there to get to Baltimore as opposed to a little over an hour. Who in the hell designed that interchange anyway?? Ramps wayyyyyy up in the air, concrete covered , and with a light incline (see pic below).

Add freezing rain on top of that and Va deciding not to salt ANY of their roads (because , of course high altitude ramps, rain and freezing temps will not ice the road any faster right,,,,,)until well after rush hour and like 100 or so accidents started and it spells good times. I came off the ramp in 18 wheeler drift formation (absolutely no fun!!!). Could literally look out of my passenger side window and clearly see the end of my trailer, pretty much right next to me (never a good sign,, should always be behind me). Came SOOOO close to jackknifing last night, it just was not funny. Truckers literally stopped traffic at the interchange and we took turns going down the incline so as not to take anyone else out. Took all of the experience and quick thinking and fast turns of the wheel in order to stay in front of my trailer. UGHHHH!!!!!
Then get to Baltimore and am greeted with another 5 hour drive from there to Carteret, NJ (normally 2.5 hours). All I can say,, one helluva lot of fun.

OK,,, rant is over,,,, and you guys thought you had it bad. You guys slip and slide and it may hurt someone. I slip and slide and I will not only hurt someone, but come close to killing them. 40 tons of truck with icy roads and stupd drivers = a very pissed off TRUKN1!!!

my 20 minute commute took close to 3 hours last night. Took me an hour to make it 5 blocks from the garage because of so much traffic. Other than that first winter with fwd, and on top of that trac and vsc. It made the ride very boring, but i did feel like i could go anywhere.

I got a heads-up from Trukn1 that the roads/traffic were bad. A quick check of Google traffic and I knew that I wasn't gonna even bother getting on the road at 5pm! I work in downtown DC and have to take I-395 south to get to Arlington, VA.

I just stayed in the office getting a bunch of work done till around 7 (it's amazing how much can get done in 2 hours when there's no one there to bother you!!). I walked across the street to an upscale hotel restaurant (promptly slipped on some ice on the sidewalk and fell right on the street (landed on my cell phone...that friggin' hurt!). Got back up, dusted off my pants and my pride and walked a little more slowly and carefully across the street!

Finally, at around 8:30, I decided to head for home. I punched in "home" in the Nav system, chose an "alternate route" (aka back roads) and just did what the lady in the dash told me to. Was home in 30 minutes (my usual commute time during Rush Hour is 30-45 minutes) so, I was happy.

Then I got sick and spent the night in bed shivering with a fever...called in sick today so have no idea how the commute was.

Winter blows.

what is worse then having your LS sliding all over the place trying to go down a road is, being in your LX in total control while everyone around you is being stupid and freaking out about <1" of snow. Man i was angry the other day driving home from class. 15 min drive took me 40 because everyone had their flashers on and couldnt stay in their lane. Then again people cant stay in their lane up here even when its crystal clear out.
