Tell me a little more about these:

"2 15" Custom 15 Subwoofers d4 (no logo made by re 500rms each)- 320 for both"

When you say made by re - is that Resonant Engineering? Are these SQ focussed subs? I am assuming they are dual 4 ohm subs? When you say "custom". What exactly does that mean? Custom to what?

Please read my planned audio setup and let me know your general thoughts on it as well as if your 15 inch subs would be ideal for my scenario.

Also, please send me some pics of those subs. My email address is in my signature.

college student at UCLA, investing money into sound equipment doesnt seem very likely as most college students are poor. are you a booster?

ur choice of hd-62 is very good, though i dunno if u are talking about the new set or old set
if u didnt know, cdt is coming out with new hds soon.
plus, hd is a more in your face and powerful kind of speaker, if u want somthing refined and smoother id go with dyn or the eurosports or the iriduums or custom

but having used the hd, it fits just perfectly and is a best buy for a speaker, but seeing that ur shelling out big bucks for your processing, why dont u try some dyns, or dls iridium or cdt eurosports...

the speaker itself is the strongest part of a system
what are u gonna use for rear door? i suggest a 5.25 or 6.5 braxial set or just coaxial run off hu

and since u are spending big bucks and looks like this is gonna be a big install, why don’t u go horns, horns are awesome for sq and sound so smooth. Its just, the install will be tricky on a GS. The Image dynamics minihorn is good.

as for your amps, u cant get any better than zapco competition really, theyre among the best and foir the money id buy them too. other brands to look into would be brax, tru, audison, arc.... but those brands are less known and zapco will do the job day in day out with a name most people know.

as for your processing unit, i would say, if u can afford the pioneer then go for it, it is basically the best in its price range and there are only a few units (mcintosh, alpine f1, denon, clarion copper ,eclipse copper, etc ) that can be even considered.

u dont need the hi lo converter, u should just run everything through rca connection. or zapco link... and u do not need a capacitor, just get a yellow top battery. ur setup and use doesnt quite justify a capacitor. and a capacitor under most circumstances will just destroy your battery and alternator at a faster rate

the way u have audio and navi seperated is great but it is very hard to install...

and if one is pioneer, keep the other pioneer.

as for your sound deadening u are going to want to use secondskin deadening. It’s the best ive used so far in installing and what I use in my own car. To do the doors, back deck , whole trunk, under rear seats and pillars u will need ~ 3 gallons of second skin spectrum V2 and like 100 sq feet of Damplifier pro. If u want to make your engine quieter, u can get their hoodliner as well. This will leave u with enough to do other areas as well
If u want to go nuts, get another gallon and another 25 sq feet of deadener and pull up all your carpet and do the floor.

as for your subs, how much space do u want to give? sealed, or ported, bandpass, quarterwave, abc

as for the sq of the subs I have, they really are very good for your setup, and they will move with as little as 300 rms each and take as much as 600 rms each. In sealed configuration they would please you. They can get decently loud and stay controlled and smooth.

But in the end its up to u how loud u want your bass

U may consider the jl w7, w6v2

Or the idmax, idq

Or the eclipse aluminum

Or the RE XXX

But as for price my subs cannot be beat, they are hand made by david of RE (resonant engineering), can be inverted or installed straight up. Of course u can paint the cone (because it is flat black and inverted like the eclipse/jl subs) as well if u wanted to though u should keep it at a minimal weight.

These subs aren’t too heavy and are of solid construction, they share the same basket as the xxx etc….

If u want to pm me with more q u can.

one more thing, without proper installation or higher end speakers ur not really going to benefit from buying the pioneer competition unit

u would be better off buying somthing nice and clean like a double din eclipse navi with dvd.

and even if u had higest end speakers and install, the difference is not night and day between the the pioneer and the eclipse navi with dvd

PLUS the more stuff u plan to run, the harder it is to install, and the more wires are gonna be strewn around, which means more induced noise, more interfeerence, and more induced distortion

u wanna keep it as simple as possible really for good sound, no use going all super showed out unless ur pure show.
