Description:
For sale is a black 2011 Lexus GS460 with 98K miles. I am the second owner. This is formerly a Georgia car ('10-15, 0-57K miles) now located in Denver ('15-19, 57-98K miles). I can provide the clean CarFax by request.
In 2014-2015 I scoured the country for a '10+ GS460, watching the market for roughly 7 months before buying this one. I was formerly an '08 IS350 then an '07 LS460 owner, I loved the LS's powertrain but not the size of the car (the IS was just a little too small). The GS460 perfectly combines the LS's fantastic powertrain with a smaller, sportier body. I wanted a '10+ specifically for the bluetooth audio streaming that was new for the GS in 2010 via an upgraded factory infotainment system. For the 2009-2011 model years, GS460's were special-order-only, with roughly 50 produced per year '09+. During my time looking for this car there was anywhere from 0-3 '10+ cars for sale at any one time in the entire country. National AutoTrader and CarGurus searches today show 0 cars for the 2010-2011 model years. The ClubLexus forums similarly show 0 for sale currently.
My '11 GS460 is the workhorse of my car collection ('18 4Runner, '00 NSX, '99 Tacoma). When I need to go somewhere quickly / quietly / comfortably, I drive the GS. I daily-drive it across Denver to work every day. Road trips to my parents' house 800+ miles away, I take the GS. Picking somebody up from the airport, take the GS.
The bad: there is a slight ~2 inch curb rash on the driver front wheel that is difficult to see. The driver seat was worn when I got it (picture attached). Lastly, the front bumper shows many small rock chips up close (hard to see 8+ feet away) as a result of being daily driven in Denver traffic. I have lowered the asking price to account for the driver seat and front bumper condition.
The good: the car is mechanically perfect. The car has been dealer maintained with no issues. It has new tires as of 2018 / 89K miles (Continental ExtremeContact's) and 4 new TPMS sensors in the last 6 months (factory ones finally died). It has new brakes (new pads + rotors all around) roughly a year ago. The car is fully loaded for a 3GS: Mark Levinson sound, heated / cooled seats, adjustable suspension, rear sunshade. Upgrades I added: factory color-matched mud flaps (these were ridiculously hard to find, from overseas) and a front license plate mount that screws in under the front lip rather than into the front lip. So if you live somewhere that doesn't require a front plate, there are no holes.
This car is a quiet cruiser when you want it to be, and a V8 sport sedan when you want it to be. It's a reliable, non-flashy BMW 550. Nobody sees this car coming, and wonders what blew their doors off when you go past. You'll be one of the rarest cars at Cars & Coffee and nobody will know it (I took it twice lol). I regularly average 29+ MPG at 80 MPH highway cruising, the 8-speed auto in these cars is fantastic.
(I always wanted this car in blue, but being such a low production count I'm not sure if any blue '10+ GS460's even exist. Most I've seen for sale over the years have been black. I found a deal on a '15 blue GS350 with the same 8-speed auto that was too good to pass up, which is why my '11 GS460 is for sale. I will miss the V8 :-) )
Asking price is $15,500. As there are few comparable '10+ cars to price against, I'm basing this on the car's condition and miles using all three major pricing websites (KBB, Edmunds and NADA). Average Trade-In across the 3 sites: $14,241. Private Party average, $16,460. Dealer Retail average, $19086. I can provide the specifics that I put into each website upon request. The $15,500 asking price is based on the Private Party average, minus ~$1000 to account for the driver seat and front bumper condition.
The car received a $350 detail -- wash, clay bar, polish, leather treatment, vacuum -- 2 days ago, and is ready to sell. I apologize for the garage pics, Denver is in the middle of a blizzard today so I was unable to take pics outside. On the first clear day available, I'll take some outside pics.
Please let me know if you have any questions, and thanks for your consideration! If you are an out-of-state buyer and would like to fly to Denver to buy the car, I'd be happy to pick you up from the airport.
2008 = 1,616 Units
2009 = 56 Units
2010 = 43 Units
2011 = ?
Mark Levinson audio, heated / cooled seats, adaptive suspension, rear sunshade. I think the only thing it doesn't have is the adaptive cruise control? And I'm pretty sure all the adaptive cruise cars had to be ordered that way.
