Description:
I have my SC400 for sale that feels like I had it forever. The car is a little project from the standpoint that it needs a lot of little things. But the best thing about it is the low mileage drivetrain. It has 104K miles and has only seen Amsoil synthetic oil changes. It runs and drives just fine! The body has no rust but the paint has seen better days. It definitely needs a clay bar, polish, and wax. But the car is straight and I don't even think it has a single dent. But rock chips and some paint fade is certainly present. The car also was in a minor fender bender. So the bumper has a crack along with one of the inside lights on the bumper. But good news! I have brand new OEM parts to fix it (bumper, absorber, and light assembly). It just needs paint and install. I have 2 sets of 16" Lexus wheels with winters on one set and all seasons on the other. However, the price reflects that both sets of tires need replacement. They have good tread but should be changed due to age.
The car has a brand new battery installed last week. It has a K&N drop in filter. The car is completely stock. The interior is rough as far as the front seats are concerned and there's some fading throughout. My dad basically borrowed the car for the last 4 or 5 years and it just sat outside a lot. The radio does not work (no sound out of the speakers but the head unit turns on... probably all the amplifiers at the speakers are dead as they died one by one throughout the years). The A/C has a leak so doesn't currently work. The climate control display needs to be replaced. There are a couple bulbs out behind the speedo/tach. And the steering wheel is stuck up because of a piece of plastic that broke inside. I guess it is a cheap and easy fix from what I'm told. It also should have the timing belt done.
The brakes have relatively low mileage on them (front and back done around 7-8K miles ago). The sunroof works. The windows work fine. The car is as reliable as the day is long. Again, this is a straight body with no rust that I can see and a low mileage drivetrain.
This car would be a great DIY project because there really isn't anything major wrong with it. With 2 small kids, I just don't have the time. I imagine someone could also go crazy with it if they wanted to do a particular swap we all know about and sell the drivetrain that is in it for $1500+. :-) Would good be a good father/son learning experience for a high school/college kid too.
