THE GOOD-
Car runs and drives and starts first time everytime engine is perfect, idles perfectly
No check engine lights
New tIres
New Battery
Interior in good condition
17 inch Chrome wheels.
AC Ice cold

The BAD-
Transmission has a delay when going into drive, can take a while to engage or if you rev the engine it kicks in not sure what it is could be a solenoid, once car is moving it shifts fine.
Car has a vibration at around 65mph again not sure what it is could be a drive shaft or mounts
Door locks are bad, only driver and passenger opens with Key,back locks you have to manually open and close
Only 1 key fob, only opens car with button wont lock it,i also have a valet key for opening the doors but wont start the car
Car has a clean title but i rear ended someone before and i fixed it myself

Car is not perfect and is priced accordingly,Engine is in perfect shape starts without hesitation everytime, idles perfectly with no check engine lights.
Car is good for a project or a parts car

Any other questions dont hesitate to ask

When was the timing belt last done? At this mileage it's either due for the 2nd one or it just had it.

Why doesn't the valet key start the car? It's precisely for that. Was the ignition switch swapped at one point? The ignition and door cylinders should be keyed the same.

Thanks!

Timing Belt was done at 116000 miles, the key was a replacement key just to open the locks maybe I worded it wrong saying valet Key.
Dont think I will be doing the timing belt when I'm selling the car for $1600...lol

Haha no I'm with you. It would be due at about 206k so it's coming up. Something to consider.

Does that key fit into and turn in the ignition? So it just needs to be programmed? Or are the cylinders actually different and it's won't even turn it?

Heres what happened with the key,I locked my remote key fob in the trunk,I had 2 until my mechanic lost one one, anyway I was to catch a flight in 4 hours,so I just called a regular locksmith to try and open the trunk as i had it locked on the inside also.He came and could not open the lock so he just made a key on the spot by removing the door lock.

Not sure if you have ever researched timing belts on the v8 engine, but many people who no what there talking about,so it is a very rare occurrence for a belt to snap on the v8 4.3 4.0

Ok so it's a non-transponder key. Like the wallet key supplied with new cars. That clears it up.

In lieu of research, I have actual experience replacing many of those belts as a Lexus Tech. Either way, I never alluded to being worried about just the belt snapping. There's many other parts under the timing cover that need replacing at that interval as well.

And yes, the belts are built to go way longer than 90k. I can attest to that. However, if a water pump coolant leak, or front main seal oil leak gets on that belt from extending the interval, all bets are off. You really don't want a broken belt bending your valves. It does happen and it's not cheap to fix.

Understood, the car has 181000 miles 206k is a long way away for it to be a concern.
Thanks for your input though
