Body reconditioning in service history
Hello all,
Looking to purchase a used GSF from a nonlexus dealer. Ran the VIN to see service history at the Lexus owners site and noticed the following service items without any further description:
Dent removal
Body reconditioning
Autobody touch up
Dent removal sounds minor but body reconditioning sounds very involved.
I figure it could mean a range of things like they fixed a door dent or replaced a entire bumper.
It's making me skiddish about buying this particular car.
Anybody run into this before?
Many thanks
D

Dent removal is just that, but "body reconditioning" is when an accident occurs and a portion of the body like a fender or bumper must be replaced and/or reconstructed due to severe damage. It doesn't necessarily mean frame damage though. If the title isn't rebuilt, i doubt it was frame damage.

Thanks for the advice. I called the Lexus dealership that logged the service and they were very helpful. Lady said they did not have any further details on what was done, and didn't press her too much.
Non Lexus Dealership I am buying the car from speculated it could have been some simple hail dent removals or minor touchups.
I'm going to look at the car and make my own decision today. Very Excited
