Hi,

This problem has been around for a while on my 1uz (dropped into a Toyota 4runner). It used to occur only when it was running very hot but now occurs almost every time I shut it off at operating temperature. When I turn the engine off/stall, and then attempt to turn the car back on, it doesn't start. Sometimes It cranks but doesn't take off. Other times it doesn't even crank and I just get a click when i try to start it. After a while (a couple of hours at least) it will reluctantly start after cranking for 30seconds + and starts with very very low revs.

Would this be the engine coolant temperature sensor failing? or another issue?
