Anybody have a complete listing of what is included in the 75k maintenance for a '96 SC300? Please post.

There are two Lexus dealerships in MN and they both are owned by the same automotive group. 75,000 mile service includes:
replace engine oil and filter
rotate tires
check wheel alignment and adjust as necessary
replace air filter
inspect brakes, steering linkages, drive shaft boots
rotorque flange bolts (if applicable)
inspect body and chassis nuts and bolts
inspect exhaust pipes and mountings
inspect brake lines and hoses
inspect the rack and pinion assembly for leakage
replace the A/T fluid
replace the differential oil
test drive vehicle
wash vehicle

$399.99 as you stated

 

The dealers obviously fluff up the scheduled maintenance with things that they "inspect". To your average Joe, it appears to be of more importance than it really is. If you just have the fluids changed, rotate/balance your tires, wash the vehicle and replace the air filter, you're looking at $150 tops if you do it yourself.

When I talked to the service guy (Lexus Wayzata) I got the impression there were more filters/valves that they were going to change (a/c filter, erg valve?).

I wanted to get a list and see what my mechanic coud do. From the look of it the only thing extra I need to do is change the differential fluid in addition to the Mobil 1/fi;ter change and standard tech inspection before I go to the track next month
