Smile Oil change question

Hi all, I have a 2015 ES350 that currently has just over 6K miles on it. I had my Lexus dealer change the oil at the one year anniversary at which time the car had about 4K miles on the clock. I had it in for my eighteen month/15K service today and used a freebie oil change coupon from the dealer to have the oil changed again just to be safe. My question is since I average about 350 miles per month (I'm retired now) can I safely go one year or about 4,500 miles between oil/filter changes? Thanks for your advice everybody.

Your owner's manual specifies all service intervals.

Hi. I have a 13 ES350 with 5600 miles on it. I am also retired and this is my garage queen car, I have a 2000 RX300 which is our daily driver. On the ES, I change the oil once a year regardless of the mileage, that also includes the RX. Oil is cheaper than an engine replacement. I use Amsoil 0w-20 Signature Series Oil and a Amsoil cartridge filter.
Hope this helps.

In your situation a once a year oil change is just fine. That is what I do on my 2010 RX350 that only has 47,000 miles and sees about 4,000 to 5,000 miles a year. The Toyota 0W-20 full synthetic oil can easily handle that time interval and protect your engine.

I think once per year is just fine for low mileage drivers. I think 1 yr. / 4500 miles is a piece of cake.

I agree and always use the example where the interval can change, when the mfg. is paying for free maintenance (like BMW). It used to be 1 yr. / 15k, then they eliminated free oil changes 1/yr. if someone drove < 6k/yr stating unnecessary, when people said this makes no sense, they said ok 1/yr. for everyone, then they extended it to 2 yr. / 15k. Long story short, BMW officially has a 2 yr. interval if you don't go 15k in a year (because they have free maintenance).

As I mentioned in post #2, service intervals are specified in your owner's manual.
Depending on your distance, climate, traffic, etc, you will either fall under normal condition or "harsh" condition.
Change your fluids according to these schedules.
